Created in the 1950s by animator Bob Simon, Singing Candle first debuted in a commercial for Colgate toothpaste. In the commercial, Singing Candle sang about how Colgate helped keep her bright and shining. The character was such a hit that she got her own series of cartoons, where she would sing and dance with her friends, including Silly Soap and Laughing Toothbrush.
