Little Mermaid sees ship and fireworks. She is so excited that she immediately begins to swim toward the surface. When she reaches the top, she gasps in amazement at the sight of the ship. The sail is billowing in the wind and the pennants are flying. The deck is crowded with people, and the Little Mermaid can hear their laughter and shouting. As she watches, the ship fires a salute, and the Little Mermaid is dazzled by the colors of the fireworks. She has never seen anything so beautiful in her life.

Little Mermaid fun facts:

The Little Mermaid was released in 1989 and was an instant classic. The movie is based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale and follows the story of Ariel, a mermaid who dreams of living on land. Ariel makes a deal with Ursula, an evil sea witch, to trade her voice for a pair of legs. However, Ursula has other plans, and Ariel must rely on her friends– including a love-struck prince– to help her defeat the Sea Witch. The Little Mermaid was responsible for revitalizing Disney’s animation studio and marked a return to musical storytelling. The film was also nominated for several Academy Awards, including Best Original Score and Best Original Song (“Under the Sea”).
