In a charming country home during the summer, The Secret World of Arrietty takes place. This house, which also happens to be the childhood home of Sho’s mother, is where he is taken to live with his great aunt Sadako and her maid Haru. His parents send him there to heal because he is battling a disease. In addition, there is a community of tiny individuals known as Borrowers that reside beneath the home’s floorboards. One of them is Arrietty, a fourteen-year-old Borrower girl who Sho just barely notices while she’s in the garden.
