Here are some fun facts about Caterpie that Trainers may not know!

Caterpie is a green Caterpillar Pokémon with a hard carapace. Caterpie has black eyes and a yellow antenna with a red bulb on the end. Three pairs of black legs extend from Caterpies body. Caterpie evolves into Metapod starting at level 7. Caterpie sheds its skin frequently.

It releases a horrible stench from the antenna on its head to repel predators. Caterpie primarily feeds on leaves. In the wild, Caterpie lives in forests, where it camouflages itself among leaves and twigs. When it feels threatened, Caterpie releases a stench from its antennae to drive away enemies.

However, this also attracts predators like Pidgeotto. Caterpie is targeted by many predators Pokémon because of how common and vulnerable it is. Its hard carapace repels most attacks, however, Caterpies weak spot is its soft underside.

Despite this, Caterpie can use String Shot to immobilize foes and escape danger. Caterpies large eyes give them excellent night vision allowing them to see in complete darkness. Caterpie sleeps hanging down from branches using the silk from its antennas!

If its mother senses danger, she will call for her children using these same silk strings! Caterpie is also one of only a few Pokémon that can learn the move “String Shot”, which it uses to slow down predators or escape from them by shooting out a sticky string.

And while Caterpie may not be the strongest Pokémon around, it more than makes up for it with its cheerful and helpful nature – Caterpie is always eager to lend a helping hand, and will often be seen working alongside Pikachu and Ash in their adventures. So don’t underestimate this little guy – Caterpie may be small, but it’s definitely mighty!
