Here are some Incredible Dinosaur Facts:

  • Eoraptor, which means “dawn stealer,” is the oldest named dinosaur that has been discovered so far. Because it existed at the start of the Dinosaur Age, it was given that name. It was roughly the size of a German shepherd and a meat eater. In 1991, a skeleton of an Eoraptor was found for the first time in Argentina. However, a different dinosaur that is 230 million years old was just discovered in Madagascar. It doesn’t yet have a name.
  • Richard Owen, a British scientist, first used the phrase “dinosaur” in 1842. Instead of conveying that dinosaurs were terrifying, Owen chose the term to refer to their majesty and immensity. It is Greek and means “awful lizard.”
