Akira Toriyama mentioned his favorite character from the entire Dragon Ball series in three different interviews.
But his favorite character has changed each time.
He initially declared Tenshinhan (Tien Shinhan) to be his favorite. The second time, he declared Piccolo to be his preferred character. But he stated that Son Goku was his favorite in a subsequent 1995 interview with Shonen Jump.
Vegeta is one of Akira Toyirama’s least favorite Dragon Ball characters, but he says that Vegeta was “extremely helpful to have around” in an interview that was published in Daizenshuu 2.
