Kangaskhan is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Kangaskhan is known as a Parent Pokémon. She resembles a large dinosaur with elements of a kangaroo. Her baby is often seen in her pouch. When Mega Evolution is activated, the adult remains unchanged physically, while the juvenile emerges from the pouch and increases in size and power. Kangaskhan can evolve into her mega form in Pokémon X/Y, during battle.

Kangaskhan is a large, bipedal creature with a distinctive pouch on its stomach that resembles a kangaroo. Its head is fairly large with triangular ears and orange eyes. It has a small mouth with four blunt teeth, two on the top jaw and two on the bottom. There are three oval markings on its cheeks, and its thick tail ends in a small sphere. Its body is covered in soft, gray fur with several brown spots. The inside of Kangaskhan’s pouch is red, and it has two long stripes running down the length of its back. Females have shorter tails and smaller pouches than males. Kangaskhan is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Parental Bond.

Kangaskhan is native to humid grasslands. It is an extremely rare Pokémon that is rarely seen outside of captivity. In the wild, Kangaskhan lives in small herds led by a single adult female. These females are fiercely protective of their young and will use their powerful tails to swat away predators. Kangaskhan is also known to sometimes serve as mounts for traveling trainers.
