Nosepass is a Rock-type Pokémon. Nosepass’s body is gray and cubic in shape. Nosepass has a large, red nose on its face. Nosepass has black, triangular eyes.

Nosepass has small feet, but no visible limbs. Nosepass is a static Pokémon. If Nosepass is static, any opposing Pokémon that makes contact with Nosepass will become confused.

Nosepass sets up an airy magnetic field between itself and its Trainer. The magnetic field strengthens Nosepass’s willpower and Doubles the power of Nosepass’s humanoid Magnet Pull ability. When Nosepass evolves into Probopass, the red Nose turns blue and grows larger.

Nosepass can be found near mountains or areas with high amounts of iron in the ground. Probopass and Nosepass are based on the Lodestone Golem, figures of a golem made from various minerals, most commonly lodestone, that were said to have magical powers. Nosepass’s strongest moveset is Spark & Thunder Shock and it has a Max CP of 934.

Nosepass’s Shiny form was introduced during the Sinnoh Celebration Event on February 27th, 2020, which also increased its spawns by a factor of four. Nosepass is vulnerable to Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Steel, and Ice-type moves. Nosepass is boosted by Clear weather.

To protect itself when in danger, it raises its magnetism and draws iron objects to its body. Its nasal compass may be based on the expression “follow one’s nose”, meaning “to trust one’s instincts”. It also could be based on the ethmoid bone that is located between the nasal cavity and the brain and is known to give some species their sense of direction via magnetoreception.
