You may not be aware, but Paru Itagaki is fiercely private.
It’s nothing uncommon for mangaka to keep their identities and private lives confidential, but Itagaki went above and beyond. She has not yet made her face known to the public. Itagaki always appeared in front of the media while wearing a huge chicken mask that exactly resembles Legoshi’s hen classmate Legom.
All that is known about her is that she was born in 1993, attended college to study filmmaking, refocused on her hobby of creating manga after failing to get employment in the film industry, and that she is (unsurprisingly) a furry. She still published the manga/autobiography Paru’s Graffiti, which recounts her formative years. But even so, she disguised herself by portraying herself as a cross between a human and a chick.
